Workout Routines, Supplements all that stuff?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

I purchased Creatine Monohydrate and Whey protein a couple days ago and have been working out quite intensely. I am in good shape, about 8% body fat but have always had trouble putting a lot of muscle on. I am very active and have been boxing and training in MMA for a few years. Some routines I have been doing recently are benching, military presses, dumbell squats, and curls. (bicep and tricep) any other useful exercises/ techniques for large muscle gains and advice would be appreciated.

I do not know about your body type, height, weight, age etc. But still, assuming that you are a ”hard gainer” type of body and you are desperate to put on muscle mass, I would advise you to go eat at least 500 calories more of protein rich food in your daily diet. Divide this into 5-6 meals a day, drink a gallon of water, avoid alcohol, tea, coffee etc. and more importantly sleep for at least eight hours a day. Your trainer at the gym will give you a personalized workout routine for you. Follow it religiously but if you still see no gains, take one week rest. You can also try to substitute isolated exercises with compound exercises and high intensity body weight exercises. This triggers high growth hormone response. Your supplements are fine, but the most effective supplements for mass building are all very economical and easy to find. If all else fails then try the ”psycho diet” of the iron curtain sports scientists, the same strategy will builds 2lbs of muscle mass every month. Please refer to my site, you will find full details for free.

Can Vitamin C supplements in tablets be really absorbed by the human body?

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

I have read somewhere that ingredients of vitamin C supplements are not organic and therefore not conducive for absorption by the human body;

I also heard a doctor say that such intake greatly stresses the liver;

OTOH, I encountered a doctor that even encourages overdoze of Vitamin C on certain occassions, it being helpful, such as it can act as an anti-histamine.

Of course it can, why else do we take it?

Just remember to take anything in moderation.

A 1000MG time release VIT C capsule is all you need.

Question for bodybuilders or MMA participants?

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

I am converting my garage into a gym and I want to get back into shape and join Big House Boxing and start training.

I have always wanted to participate in a sport but was too afraid in high school. I’m 21 now and figure its time to just participate and stop worrying.

Anyways…my question is…do you guys take supplements to aid in your workouts? What would you recommened?

And could you please give me some diet tips? I eat mostly Thai food but tend to get sidetracked when my fiancee brings home Burger King…

Thanks a lot!
Silencer- I appreciate the list and I’ll check those out.

yes everyone and their mother take supplements but they don’t do much for most people.

whats most important is to get into good shape. because before you can really get some serious results from your body you need to be in shape so it can handle training hard. this goes for going to a boxing gym (unless its like a cardio fit class), you want to be in good shape because the class will be intimidating and hard as it is.

eat well, many meals 6-8 per, lots of fruits, veges, whole grain, lean proteins. drink more water

don’t worry about supplements, but some of the best to start would be a multivitamin, creatine, glutimine, essential fats. green tea.

to combat burger king, fill yourself up with good foods first, but don’t worry about the bad foods once you start training they won’t effect you as much, and youll be more motivated to stay away from them

Can I get a good body using a rowing machine and muscle supplements?

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

I’ve got a rowing machine at home but no time to go to the gym or the patience to do a full workout. I’ve heard rowing is good all round exercise. I don’t want to be huge, just have bigger muscles on my arms, shoulders and chest (basically upper body). I’m pretty skinny at the moment, not much fat or muscle. Will I achieve this doing 3 hours of rowing a week while eating muscle supplement things? Or does anyone have any other recommendations?
Is there any way i can do it without going to the gym? push-ups or anything?

rowing machines are great. but dont limit yrself to just that. read tips on gaining muscle with natural proteins and more on some great exercises on this site
