short cuts in weight loss/diet pills/exercise/supplements, what am i doing wrong, what more can i do? ?

Monday, July 27th, 2009

i was fat, now I’m much less fat; only a few pounds over weight, between 7 and 15 depending on the week

i’m 18, i train at a mma gym twice a week, and go for half hour+ run-walks 3 times a week

during the mma training on Monday & Wednesday i go from 6 – 9 pm, with 1 kick boxing class and one Pankration (wrestling / Brazilian jujitsu / full contact ring fighting ) class

this gym is not some sissy bow 30 times over the course of the night, do 10 push ups 10 high kicks and go home gym, its the gym that has produce 3 provincial boxing and mma champs, and you can feel the intensity of the work out

before each of those sessions i take 2 scoops of no-xplode by bsn, it keeps me awake for a few hours after that (don’t get to sleep before about 3am) but the additionally endurance is measurable. and worth it for me
right after i get home and shower i have a protein shake, and a hour later a creatine drink

my diet is not super complex, i try to follow the creed "eat food, not to much, mostly veggies" or at least i try to,
i eat very little red meat, and no wheat at all, grains come from brown rice, rice-milk and rice cakes

only recently started the run-walks which go for 30 min + (47 today) and im starting with 1 min of running and 2 min of walking, i have a guide to tell me when and how to change it over the next 14 weeks

my goals are simply "get in better shape"
i want to be able to move, look good, feel healthy, my actions are working but there doing so very slowly so, if anyone has any educated (formal or from experience based) advice on how i can improve my health from training times, workout styles, supplement advice (are diet pills like atro-phex for me?) or anything someone has i would love to hear it

Hey there,

I’ve tried just about every diet pill under the sun, and I can tell you that the only things I’ve ever had success with were natural supplements like acai berry. I tried a lot of the products like Hydroxycut, but they only made me dizzy and nauseous, not skinny! :) lol

I’d recommend you check out things like acai berry or colon cleanse products that help to boost energy levels and speed up metabolism naturally. Add them to a strictly healthy diet and a lot of exercise, and you should start to see results pretty quickly. Remember – there are no miracle pills, so if you want to lose weight, you can’t just sit around on your butt all day eating pizza!

Anyways, let me know if you have any other questions. I’d be happy to talk to you about the plan that worked for me.

I’m thinking of getting limb lengthening surgery…?

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Throughout my life, being short got real old, like around age 9. I was probably born one of the smallest babies you could imagine. They called me "Peanut" and they still call me "Peanut". But I’ve been called other names too, such as "midget" "short sh*t" "dwarf" "elf", whatever. For the amount of tall people in society today, they sure do refuse to grow up.

"Peanut" wants to be a fighter pilot now, and things aren’t looking so smooth. I was a smoker when I was 10-13, (I had a cigarette a day), but I dropped that habit when the common sense hormone kicked in. I was also a Mt. Dew addict and couldn’t function without coffee my freshman year of high school. Well that’s all behind me now. But the brief stream of caffiene and nicotene has left me short.

On a good day, I true out at 5" and a fraction, but I just measured myself and it turned out 4′9" somehow.

The cool thing about this is, being a freak of nature earns me a medical term, "Constitutional short stature" and now that I have a "diagnosis" I can get it surgically corrected. 5′5" is my goal, but 6′0" is a dream.

Symptoms of CSS are:

1) People starting conversations about your lack of height.
2) 10 year olds having height contests with you (and winning)
3) Losing every basketball game you play in
4) Staying out of the 5" end while your high school friends are chillin in it.
5) Not making it into the Air Force as an officer.
6) Not making it into the Marine Corps as an officer.
7) Not making it into the Navy as an officer.
8) Not making it into the Army as an officer.
9) "Looking up" to everyone you talk to
10) Being baby talked, and called "cute" (My only defense)
11) Sad results at every track meet
12) People feeling better about their own problems
13) Higher BMI and body fat percentage.

According to a recent study, tall people make $1000 more a year than short people. For every additional inch of height, it equals $300 more in your annual wallet. Stellar. Being tall also increases confidence and they tend to be more "loved" and "respected". Being short causes confidence problems, on the contrary. Short people tend to live shorter lives. The moral of the story is, short people are of no moral value to society and should be killed at birth (not my own words).

So, my question is, should I go through with the surgery? I’ve tried yoga, a balanced diet, stretching, exercise, height supplements (not HGH), but nothing works.

Will the military still accept me if I lengthen my limbs? It’s my only option.

Thanks.

If you want to be taller just set that goal. Don’t think bad thoughts that you will forever be short just set your head into believing you’ll grow, believe me it works. The mind has not limit when used properly. Don’t try those things that stretch you out, they just pop your joints, and don’t try steroids they won’t work. l’ m 24 and i am 6’0 , my father 5’7 and mum 5’4. l was the same height as my father 8 months ago and l was always told that l would not grow over 5’7 , the height can’t be controlled , height was determined by your genetic ,inheritance etc. i was really fed up with these narrow- minded people around me and l hit the road for a solution. l have researched books , doctors and internet high and low for increasing height, and tried many growth boosters. From my experience what worked on me :
1. Eat lots of Broccoli.
2. Eat at least 250gr yougurt every day.
3. Regular Swimming helps.
4. Sleep without pillows, and sleep at least 8 hrs daily.
5. Super-Growth works http://www.super-growth.com – http://www.super-growth.org
6. Use an inversion table for 20- 30 minutes every day.
Follow the tips above and you’ll grow a few inches taller regardless of your age.

How essential are creatine supplements for body building?

Monday, July 27th, 2009

I drink whey protein after workouts and eat healthy but wanted to know if shelling out an extra 15 bucks on a tub of creatine would be worth a try for speeding up gains. First hand accounts and scientific studies would be nice. And give me numbers if you’re giving an account of your creatine use.

when creatine builds up in your muscles
it allows your muscle to produce more IGF-1 naturally
IGF-1 is a hormone that works with testosterone to pack on punds of muscle

creatine also allows you to convert adp to atp faster and this will result in more energy and power and less recovery, and the water is good for maintaining an anabolic state which allows you to build muscle faster

Monday, July 27th, 2009

for all the fighters i want to know what supplements you use and their effects supplements are such a huge sponsor to mma which are the best and worse

Fish oil
Beta Alanine

That’s the 4 staples in all of my athlete’s regimens. Avoid any pro-anabolic supplements and nitrous supplements.
