Are supplements good for your body in the long term?

This girl is saying that protein drinks and supplements are good, but at the same time my teacher is saying it’s bad; Because apparently the body can’t take liquid protein from supplements, and it can do damage to the body. and the girl is saying "No. You are clueless." Who is right? Because I’m confused.

They’re both right. Your body absorbs a good amount of protein, carbs, and water (if you mix with water) or the various nutrients from milk from the supplement. It’ can be bad for you if you under exercise and over take it (very easy to do), it’s also alot of fat if you use whole milk, especially as much as it requires. Best thing to really do is get on a good vitamin regimen and have a good diet.

Need help about body building supplements ?

I am 19.5 years old 6 feet and 180 lbs.I have started body building month ago.I am gaining mass by mass gainer supplement.It is affective though,My question is after mass gainer what supplement should i use to get muscles.I am working quite hard.Should i use a whey protein or amino tablets.What are functions of both and if i should use any other then those then which one it should be ???

Being so young and new to bodybuilding, you will already have high levels of the nutrients stored in your body. After around 2-3 months when your nutrient stores are getting low, you will need to start supplying your body with what it needs to build/repair muscle and provide energy etc.

The basics of muscle building are. Nutrition, Progressive overload, Nutrition, Rest.

You can do just as well without supplements, but you have to know your diet really well (as in know what works best for you as an individual). When a person gets to a certain level, nutritionally, as in they are eating the majority of foods as whole foods and monitoring their calorie intake daily, and are possibly competing or aiming to get a low body fat percentage, then that (in my opinion) is when supplements can help a great deal, but at the moment you really shouldn’t waste you money. By all means read up on them though, as like I said they have their time and place, but they are not 100% essential.

Essential amino acids (ESA’s) are what helps build muscle. The reason they are essential is because the body requires them to build muscle, but it cannot produce these amino acids on its own. You get ESA’s from protein rich foods, mainly animal products, like red meat, turkey, fish, chicken and whey. There are supplements that provide esa’s but… it is far better, in my opinion and countless others, to get your esa’s from food because of the way the nutrients are used by the body. (if you have done some biology you may know why).

To be the best you have to take every advantage you can, and keep this mindset in uncompromisingly tough sport of bodybuilding. As each year progresses, it may be harder to achieve competitive advantage.

Age, an adjustment and acclimation to the training that leads to slower growth and the general complexities of life with its many demands and questions can all conspire to our training efforts.

While exercise intensity can be achieved through a targeted training program and an ability to adequately stimulate our muscles are somewhat motivated and determined bodybuilder often have no problem to do, muscle recovery is another matter. It is especially important in a time of year when social and incorrect eating combined to stifle our progress.

This is why it is especially important to fill any nutritional gaps with quality supplements, a practice that can be done throughout the year for maximum results in muscle size and strength.

The misconception that supplements are not really necessary (that is, after all, only to be used to supplement a nutritionally deficient diet) has persisted for some time.

More recently, it has become clear with advances in supplement quality, purity, and what they can offer, that the whole food nutrition simply can not cover everything. Rather than being an optional extra to increase your bodybuilding success, supplement use is an important aspect of fat loss, muscle building and performance.

As we all know now, it is essential to ensure that proper nutrition is in place prior to the workout. After all, missing the occasional training may also be productive for much needed recovery, but the neglect nutritional means a breakdown in the healing process.

When training is resumed under these conditions, there may be little in the way of caloric support to ensure that protein synthesis and muscle growth occurs. Muscle can even begin to cannibalize itself as the body goes into a catabolic state. Even with the best of diets that can sometimes happen if the training requirements override the nutritional balance or imbalance.

To be extra sure that this does not happen, the supplements become a must for the serious ongoing results.
