Capoeira KO in MMA – Marcus “Lelo” Aurélio vs. Keegan Marshall

2 Capoeira KO in MMA Marcus Lelo Aurélio vs. Keegan MarshallEverybody knows Capoeira, it’s a Martial Art that has its origins in Africa, but was developed and spread to the world by Brazil! Capoeira is by far the most beautiful Martial Art, but it’s also useless for Mixed Martial Arts… NOT! This video is for the ones who question the effectiveness of Capoeira! If Lyoto Machida found a way to use his Karate in MMA I’m pretty sure Capoeira can also be used effectively in the sport, specially if you consider it’s unorthodox style of striking! I’m sure someday there will be a Capoeira specialist in the top of the sport! (04/04/2009)

    all martial arts …
    all martial arts have there own merits. you are no one to judge a fighting method or a martial art. if you like it good, if you have stupid coments to make, shut up

  8. Alexandreabada Says:

    I think we have …
    I think we have evolved long enought to know that every tribe in the world had there kind of “fight”.there is no “ho did it first”.capoeira is a martial art composed by parts of african ritual fights. if you want to know “ho did it first”, try to know from where was the first primate ho kiked another in the face and that is your first martial artist.

    @crazyhits kung fu …
    @crazyhits kung fu is pretty much older than capoiera (shaolin kung fu was created at year 539 if i remember right) and you tell that kung fu has copyed moves from capoiera?! please raise your knowledge of martial arts before you start spreading false arguments.
    that comment was rly noobish

    hapkido isn’t ” …
    hapkido isn’t “copied”. it has roots in daito ryu aikijutsu but most of the technniques are hapkidos own. hapkido isn’t copied from TKD either, all hapkido kicks have a circular motion. TKD kicks starts by bringing the knee up

    yes it might be I …
    yes it might be I don’t know capoeria well enough to comment it. but i do know is this a spinning kick is a spinning kick its origins are world wide to even figure out who did it first. so it doesnt matter if you spin on a hand or no hand it is still a spinning kick. now if he spinned with 2 hands thats different.

  18. devilswithin Says:

    And crazyhits, do …
    And crazyhits, do you watch any other martial arts besides whats on films. kung fu which also is know wushu has a spinning kick just like it in its animal style wushu called monkey kung fu. And I know there is another country that uses the same kick but I do not remember what country. There are similarities but there is not coping only a few martial arts accutally copy from something else ex. hapkido, bjj, and american kickboxing and there are more. as for it being a traditional capoeria move

  19. devilswithin Says:

    I’m not taking his …
    I’m not taking his victory away from the kick. I’m just saying it be more impressive if he would have move that capoeria is known for.

  20. crazyhits Says:

    this move is one of …
    this move is one of the most traditional capoeira moves, i havent seen this move been applyd in any other martial art. the spinning heel kick yes but not with your hand on the ground. most martial arts like kung fu are now copying this move from capoeira

  21. rammstein2001 Says:

    great move but the …
    great move but the bald guy is a horrible fighter. if this capoeira guy is that good why he`s not on the top? because using capoeira in UFC or against Fedor Emelianenko we would DIE

    why are you guys hating?! that was a sick move

  25. alanfigueroa123 Says:

    @devilswithin you …
    @devilswithin you are right , the capoeira fighter was not even doing any type of ginga which as any capoerista knows is the basis of what makes your movements capoeira. But lets not take away from the victory because his kick did get through the defences of the opponent.
