MMA strength and conditioning?
i am 18 yrs old and im getting into MMA (mixed martial arts) i weigh 216 and im trying to get to 185 and im 5′10 i want to loose my fat and turn it into straight muscle can you give me any tips?Should i take any supplements i was thinking about creatine?
Supplements are primarily for gaining muscle, not losing fat. You can use powders to lose weight but replacing food with your supplements . . . but in the beginning stages of fitness, IE losing weight, that is not a good idea.
Creatine can be dangerous anyways. Especially to noobs. Even though creatine occurs naturally in the body, taking man-made creatine is NOT natural. The primary issue here is that is causes tremendous water retention. So torn and pulled muscles are a common problem even if you warm up properly.
Creatine is usually something you would add to a regimen if you are stacking. Stacking is say:
Taking a whey protein, and adding a little creatine to it. ( stacking = taking more than one supplement )
I do not suggest this as it is hard on the organs, and not just the protein itself. The artificial sweeteners are very harmful to your spleen and pancreas. Aspartame, dextrose, sucrose and other artificial sugars are so bad for you.
SO, losing weight.
If you are getting into MMA and you mean you are actually joining a school soon, there is no need to work out outside of class.
Losing weight before getting into classes means a lot of cardio. power walking and jogging are the best ways to do this. Limit carbs and dairy intake every day along with your cardio.
Keep your working heart rate for an hour every day. Mix in push ups, sit ups and lunges and you’ll be doing good before classes start.

if you are prepared to do some hard work take creatine. If you dont work out you will gain weight. Creatine retains water, making you look and feel fatter. If you are getting into mma i recommend going to a mma gym. They will condition you how you need to and specify the type of conditioning for your style in fighting. If you are willing you can always go join a wrestling off season club. Wrestling conditioning is very apt for mma.

look into crossfit training. Its really intense workouts for about 45 minutes. It gets cardio and strength training at the same time.
