its nice to see a MMA Analyst actually KNOW what he is talking about with MMA….(MMA is NOT UFC…lol)
Kid Yamamoto got Black listed because he almost signed with UFC. We will soon see that happen…
AOKI is The Man at 155! I say right NEXT to BJ PENN. I seen and heard that arm POP before it Happened.
AOKI will come to Strikeforce and Clean the division. To many 155ers calling him out. This was AOKI sending a Statement he at U.S. Fighters saying that can beat him?
Alvarez is not the … Alvarez is not the same caliber wrestler as Sherk or Maynard or Frankie Edgar, to name a few. He has great striking and might be favored against them, but his takedown defense is not on the same level as those guys. So stylistically, Aoki matches up much better with him (and I picked Aoki to win that fight). Aoki against Sherk, Maynard, Edgar etc. is in trouble.
Just my two cents. I’d really like to see any of those matchups. I know Stevenson has been dying for that matchup for a while.

Alvarez has good hands, wrestling and is as well rounded as you can be. Aoki made him tap in 2 mins.
Aoki would lose to Penn, for sure. But the UFC LW Division is a bunch of wrestlers who think they can strike.
Yeah, they are big and Aoki is the opposite, and the solid wrestling would DEFINITELY pose a thread to Aoki, especially with the North American judging criteria, but that doesn’t mean they should be ranked higher.
In Vegas, Aoki is the fav against everybody not name BJ.
I don’t … I don’t underestimate his guard. The point is not how good he is from his back, the point is that he would never be PUT on his back against Stevenson or Sherk (if they fought smart). Neither of them have impressive standup, but both could fairly easily outstrike Aoki on the feet in my opinion. So how does he win those matchups? I just don’t see how he’s #2, even though in terms of his jiu-jitsu he’s best or second best in his weightclass. But he’s too one dimensional to be #2 overall.
BJ would probably … BJ would probably smash Aoki, but you underestimate how sick his guard is. I think he’d give Sherk and Stevenson a shitload of trouble off his back. He’s still one of the few guys who actually know the finer points of the rubber guard and most of its setups.
When you were … When you were talking heel hooks with Minowa. Hong Man Choi could not have cared any less about that fight. He was in there for the paper and that’s it. He gave up as soon as he got the chance.
On Aoki: “this … On Aoki: “this dude can make brock lesnar look like georges st. pierre when it comes to sportsmanship”
On the arm breaking: “and it’s like ‘oh, snap’”
Classic.
I’m a huge Aoki fan, but is he really #2 like everyone says he is? Tell me, how does he beat a strong wrestler with better striking? Aoki’s standup is horrible and he has no power, and his wrestling wouldn’t be good enough against even a Sherk or Stevenson, let alone B.J. Penn. I just don’t see how he wins those matchups.
I think youre right … I think youre right but dont Alves work with black house . or the wand fight team in vegas or something like that……. whats crazy is that a lot of people use roids its just a matter or timing i remember high school kids got away with it all the time. they would use to maxout in the off season or summer
