@syncng Definitely ask for a pelvic ultrasound..not just a regular ultrasound bc they can miss the cysts and tell you that nothing is abnormal

    You should ask her …
You should ask her next time you see her if she thinks you have it, it may not mean that you do have pcos, do you have any other symptoms of it? acne, facial hair, low energy, hair loss from scalp, overweight? and are your periods regular and do you know if you ovulate?

I found out by ultrasound, and the fact that i didnt ovulate and had irregular periods. There are also blood tests you can get done to check insulin resistance, and hormone levels, but blood tests alone arent always conclusive. So Id suggest doing everything, I am actually seeing a dr today to get tests done. The more you know the more you can do to manage your symptoms!

    Glad you are …
Glad you are keeping fit and healthy now! That is true that alot of people assume you have to be overweight to have PCOS. But cutting out sugar does help things alot. Personally I dont think birth control pills help in any way apart from masking the symptoms, but i think they are what made my PCOS worse since i stopped taking them its messed up my cycle when it was totally regular before i took them. So i wont ever be taking them again lol!

    I was diagnosed …
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 23; 25 now. I begged doctors to test me, but they assumed I never had it because I was thin. But I always suspected I had a hormone-related problem from a young age. PCOS makes my hormones crazy and it doesn’t help that I take anti-depressants

Many don’t know thin girls have it. I’m cautious of sugar intake even though I don’t have diabetes. But few years ago I was borderline diabetic, so I cut sugar intake then. I keep fit, eat healthy, & take b/c pills

I hope its good news for you hun… Im finding out now how hard and confusing and frustrating it actually is to deal with having PCOS, i guess its something ill have to get use to. Good luck at ur drs appointment :)
