To be the best you have to take every advantage you can, and keep this mindset in uncompromisingly tough sport of bodybuilding. As each year progresses, it may be harder to achieve competitive advantage.

Age, an adjustment and acclimation to the training that leads to slower growth and the general complexities of life with its many demands and questions can all conspire to our training efforts.

While exercise intensity can be achieved through a targeted training program and an ability to adequately stimulate our muscles are somewhat motivated and determined bodybuilder often have no problem to do, muscle recovery is another matter. It is especially important in a time of year when social and incorrect eating combined to stifle our progress.

This is why it is especially important to fill any nutritional gaps with quality supplements, a practice that can be done throughout the year for maximum results in muscle size and strength.

The misconception that supplements are not really necessary (that is, after all, only to be used to supplement a nutritionally deficient diet) has persisted for some time.

More recently, it has become clear with advances in supplement quality, purity, and what they can offer, that the whole food nutrition simply can not cover everything. Rather than being an optional extra to increase your bodybuilding success, supplement use is an important aspect of fat loss, muscle building and performance.

As we all know now, it is essential to ensure that proper nutrition is in place prior to the workout. After all, missing the occasional training may also be productive for much needed recovery, but the neglect nutritional means a breakdown in the healing process.

When training is resumed under these conditions, there may be little in the way of caloric support to ensure that protein synthesis and muscle growth occurs. Muscle can even begin to cannibalize itself as the body goes into a catabolic state. Even with the best of diets that can sometimes happen if the training requirements override the nutritional balance or imbalance.

To be extra sure that this does not happen, the supplements become a must for the serious ongoing results.

In this video were gonna talk about my number one favorite supplement, caffeine! Caffeine is a cheap and effective supplement for bodybuilders and endurance athletes alike. In this video we will talk about what kind of caffeine to take, how much to take, when to take it, caffeine tolerance, and also about what the research says.

Caffeine comes in different forms and surprisingly, coffee is not the best way! Several studies have shown that the anhydrous caffeine in the pill form is more effective in improving perfomance than the caffeine in coffee. If you want to maximize your performance, you should use the pill form. Two added benefits of using caffeine pills, first its far cheaper. For the price of one fancy starbucks coffee you can buy a bottle with 100 doses of caffeine in it. The second benefit of using the caffeine in pill form is that you know your exact dosage. Speaking of dosage, lets talk about how much to use.

Oddly enough, more is not better. Several studies have shown that there is no increase in strength or endurance if you consume more than the recommend amount of caffiene. This makes caffeine unlike many other supplements.
So, how much should you take? The research shows there is no benefit to taking more than 6mg/KG before your sports activity, I would recommend half that or 3mg/kg – so for a 150lb person thats 200mg. Take your caffeine about an hour before your lifting session and take it at most once per day. If you dont want the caffeine to interfere with your sleep you would best be advised to have your workout in the morning to allow the caffeine to be eliminated from your system by bedtime.

Dont take caffeine if you have any history of heart irregularies.

Caffeine tolerance is a very important issue here. You quickly build up a tolerance to caffeine which diminishes its value for sports performance. If you want to use caffeine as a supplement you really need to stop its use as a beverage. The only caffeine you consume in a day should be that taken the hour before your weight workout. On days you dont lift weights, no caffeine. If you have a race or contest, you should stop all caffeine use the week before the event so you can benefit its full effect on the big day.

So there you have it, caffeine is the #1 best supplement for bodybuilding in my book but you gotta use it properly. For those of you interested keep watching and we will talk about the research.

0 Which Supplements Should You Take? Which Supplements Do I Take?When you start getting back in shape, you will naturally start researching what can give you that edge to make it happen. If you are anything like me, you are probably overwhelmed with the amount of products and supplements on the market. Each product claims to get amazing results fast, but how can you know what to take?

In this video I give my honest opinion on supplements that have worked for me personally. I don’t think you need a lot of supplements to be successful in the gym. Too many people give credit to all of their supplements when it is actually the hard work they are putting in at the gym.

The trick is to try supplements one at a time, and see which supplements are working for you. If you can feel a difference in stamina, strength, energy, etc. Then stick with it. If you can’t tell a difference, leave it alone. Don’t waste your money!

I believe all you need is:

Whey Protein
Multivitamin
glucosamine
Creatine Monohydrate
Pre-Workout Energy Drink (like Jack3d)
