MMA H.E.A.T. went to Throwdown Training Center in Las Vegas, NV, to see UFC welterweight title contender Nick Diaz and Strikeforce title challenger Ronda Rousey get in the cage with Middle Easy’s Layzie The Savage. Surprising no one, the two professional MMA fighters school the intrepid reporter with submissions six times in the course of a few minutes. As an added bonus, in this clip we also gain insight on the origins of Layzie’s nickname.

MMA H.E.A.T’s Karyn Bryant sits down with MMA Junkie staff writer Steven Marrocco to do some post-fight analysis on UFC 141. The two mainly discuss the PPV card, but do touch on a few key moments from the prelims. In their discussion, Karyn and Steven talk about the young Jimy Hettes’ performance against Nam Phan, Vladimir Matyushenko’s loss to Alexander Gustafsson, whether Vlad should retire and who might be a good match-up for the surging Swede.  They then discuss Johnny Hendrick’s position in the welterweight division after defeating Jon Fitch and Nate Diaz’s very strong showing in his win over Donald Cerrone. Finally they cover Brock Lesnar’s loss to Alistair Overeem, his contributions to the sport of MMA and how Alistair may fare when he challenges Junior Dos Santos for the title.

MMA H.E.A.T. was on the scene at the Throwdown Training Center in Las Vegas, NV, when the UFC’s Nick Diaz and Strikeforce’s Ronda Rousey worked out together. At the same time, UFC fighters Nate Diaz and Manny Gamburyan were going over some Judo throws, in preparation for Nate’s fight with Donald Cerrone at UFC 141. In this clip you’ll see some of their training, and you’ll also hear from Nate and Manny on the benefits of Judo in MMA and Nick Diaz’s skills as a teacher.
